Position: Laboratory expert
Institution: Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute
Location: Basel, Switzerland
Duties: To perform our services, we are looking for consultants to be integrated in our pool of experts with the following profile: Laboratory expert
Requirements: Minimum 10 years’ experience working in laboratory services and the management of diagnostic products. Experience with international agencies on strengthening laboratory services and/or diagnostic product/equipment matters. Experience with and strong understanding of the diagnostic platforms used for the management of HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria programmes in limited resource settings. Proven expertise in working with and understanding Quality Assurance (QA) systems, the selection of laboratory diagnostics and the implementation of diagnostic programs especially in resource limited settings.. Working knowledge of procurement and supply chain good practices for diagnostic products.. Good understanding of the WHO prequalification program and the work of the Global Harmonization Task Force (GHTF). Experience in preparing policy documents and technical guidelines. Strong analytical, writing and reporting skills as well as excellent spoken communication skills essential. Excellent command of English (speaking & writing) required, another language (French, Spanish or Portuguese) is a strong asset. Ability to work under pressure, work experience in fragile and operating challenging environments is an asset. Experience working with not-for-profit sector is an asset
