An ideal candidate would have experience in quantum field theory in curved space and quantum gravity, and be interested in using tool from quantum information theory. Depending on experience, the postdoctoral researcher could be appointed as part of the It from Qubit network, as the UCL group is one of the It from Qubit hubs. The successful candidate will have the freedom to conduct their own research, either independently, or in collaboration with members of the Quantum Information theory group at UCL or It from Qubit members. Other researchers at UCL in this area include Joan Camps, Lluis Masanes, Dan Browne, Simone Severini, Alessio Serafini and Sougato Bose. The interests of the quantum information group at UCL is diverse, and more details can be found at http://www.ucl.ac.uk/quantum The appointment could start at the earliest convenience of the researcher, and both junior and senior research associate positions are available. This position is funded for 3 years in the first instance . Key Requirements The successful applicant will have a PhD in Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science, and expertise in topics related to and including at least one of: quantum gravity, quantum field theory in curved space, classical gravity, cosmology, quantum information theory, statistical mechanics, solving novel differential equations. Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (salary salary ?30,922-?32,607 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
