Position: Coordinator, Center for Math and Statistics Support

Duties: Oversees the daily operations of program activities. Provides outreach, orientation and advertising activities. Coordinates online, asynchronous and face-to-face tutoring options. Coordinates and provides additional Center offerings, such as exam review sessions. Plans for new Center services in collaboration with constituents. Assists students and faculty with customer service issues, and provides problem solutions. Provides additional tutoring coverage as needed according to demand. Assists with management of front desk. Monitors website content and recommends changes to web techs
Requirements: Baccalaureate degree. Requires 18 graduate hours of math, statistics or closely related discipline. Minimum of three (3) years of related work experience. Knowledge of trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to the position. Understanding of tutoring models in order to train, monitor, and assess peer tutor performance. Thorough understanding of all 1st and 2nd year mathematics and statistics courses. Knowledge of Excel, Peoplesoft, Sharepoint, Banner, Blackboard, TutorTrac, AdvisorTrac, Canva, Camtasia, Conceptboard, or other online tutoring software. Candidates must have strong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Graphic design skills to create promotional materials. Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
   
Text: The Coordinator, Center for Math and Statistics Support oversees and coordinates the functions of the Center for Math and Statistics Support. DUTIES Oversees the daily operations of program activities Provides outreach, orientation and advertising activities Coordinates online, asynchronous and face-to-face tutoring options Coordinates and provides additional Center offerings, such as exam review sessions Plans for new Center services in collaboration with constituents Assists students and faculty with customer service issues, and provides problem solutions Provides additional tutoring coverage as needed according to demand Assists with management of front desk Monitors website content and recommends changes to web techs Coordinates support for the at-risk students identified by the Early Alert System Creates budgets for tutors and activities Creates reports for spending accountability, including assessment of Center activities and usage Serves as member of the Freshman Math Program Committee Assists in overseeing the Academic Support Center, in absence of the Director MARGINAL DUTIES Performs all other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Direct Reports : Part-time employees Delegation of Work : Hires, trains, schedules and supervises math and statistics peer tutors and faculty tutors Supervision Given : Supervises part-time employees KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge : Knowledge of trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to the position Understanding of tutoring models in order to train, monitor, and assess peer tutor performance Thorough understanding of all 1st and 2nd year mathematics and statistics courses Knowledge of Excel, Peoplesoft, Sharepoint, Banner, Blackboard, TutorTrac, AdvisorTrac, Canva, Camtasia, Conceptboard, or other online tutoring software. Position is physically comfortable; individual has discretion about sitting (50%) walking (25%), standing (25%), etc. Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks.
