Position: Senior Reserving Analyst

Duties: Conducting reserves analysis with and lead initial review work. Able to build new reserving models and parametrise existing models in ResQ (development curves, IELRs, method selection etc.) and be able to articulate and document key judgments to senior actuaries. Operate key reserving controls and work within a peer review framework
Requirements: Individual should have 2 years’ experience in the non-life industry including prior Reserving experience, ideally in ResQ, in either Retail Insurance or London Market business. Must be familiar with standardised Reserving methods Be credible across the business and able to build strong relationships, in particular with underwriters Must be able to demonstrate significant achievement in your pursuits to date including good progress in the actuarial exams. Must be curious, seek continuous improvement and able to work under their own initiative. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of working with people at all levels internal and external to the business

All members of the team are expected to develop expertise in one or two of these areas and to contribute on an ongoing basis to continual process improvement. The transformation project in particular will dramatically enhance our clients reserving capabilities and their end to end reserving process. The initial phase will involve a migration to a new ResQ model followed by an extensive automated framework Key areas covered in the role: Conducting reserves analysis with and lead initial review work. Able to build new reserving models and parametrise existing models in ResQ (development curves, IELRs, method selection etc.) and be able to articulate and document key judgments to senior actuaries. Operate key reserving controls and work within a peer review framework. Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business Continually work to improve and develop processes and key analysis Undertake additional responsibilities and projects which may include deep dives into specific business areas, reserve risk analysis, Solvency II technical provisions, Economic Balance Sheet calculations (Bermuda Solvency II equivalent regime), Brexit related activities, IFRS 17 model development, actuarial function holder support.
