Requirements: Master degree (e.g. Computational Neuroscience, Medicine, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Psychology). Knowledge of neuroscience, neurophysiology and/or neuropsychology is required. Programming experience is a plus (e.g. in Matlab/BrainVision Analyzer/E-Prime/Python). Good knowledge of biostatistics. Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written), knowledge of German is advantageous but not a strict requirement

Project description: In collaboration with Bioinformatics and the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology of the University Hospital Basel we investigate biomarkers, for prediction of Parkinson’s disease dementia in the early pre-symptomatic phase, i.e. before occurrence of obvious, clinically detectable symptoms. Patients with risk of Parkinson’s disease dementia should be identified by using quantitative EEG, genetic risk markers and neuropsychological Tests. Neurofeedback techniques with EEG and Near-infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) will be evaluated.
