Duties: Design of stochastic models for the transmission channel of terrestrial navigation installations. Implementation of suitable stochastic models in Matlab. Extension to real 3D transmission channels including interferences caused by static and dynamic obstacles. Validation of the spectral method in the unperturbed case. Extension of the spectral method to dynamic sources of interference. Comparison of the results gained from the spectral method as well as from stochastic models
Requirements: You have completed your university studies (German "Diplom" or Master's) in electrical engineering, information technology, physics, mathematics or a comparable field. You have proven knowledge in the field of numerical simulation as well as Matlab. You have knowledge in the field of high-frequency technology. You have pronounced communication skills and are a team player. You have a very good command of both spoken and written English and German. You have good organizational skills. You are highly committed and capable of working autonomously in a team. You have a flexible time and work schedule. You are willing to travel within Germany as well as abroad for business purposes

November 2018 The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) is the National Metrology Institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with scientific and technical service tasks. It furthers progress and reliability in metrology for society, the economy and science. In Department 2.2 "High Frequency and Electromagnetic Fields" of Division 2, we are looking for a Doctoral candidate specializing in electrical engineering, information technology, physics, mathematics or a comparable subject to join us as soon as possible. The post is limited to 3 years. You will be employed at our Braunschweig site. The remuneration will be paid in accordance with remuneration group 13 TVöD Bund. Your tasks: Your tasks include research and development activities in the field of high-frequency metrology within the scope of a research program realized in cooperation with partners from industry as well as universities and colleges.
