The vaccine impact models include both transmission dynamic and static models, and cover a range of antigens including influenza, human papillomavirus, haemophilus influenzae, pneumococcal, measles and rotavirus vaccines
Requirements: The successful applicant will have a Masters’ degree in epidemiology, health economics, biostatistics, computational biology or other relevant discipline with a strong quantitative component. Candidates should also demonstrate experience in transmission dynamic modelling of infectious diseases and have a good publication record
   
Text: Research Assistant in Vaccine Modelling Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology Salary: £34,238 to £39,304 per annum, inclusive. Closing Date: Sunday 28 October 2018 Reference: EPH-IDE-2018-48 We are recruiting a Research Assistant to estimate the effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and equity impact of vaccination programmes using mathematical models of infectious diseases. The vaccine impact models include both transmission dynamic and static models, and cover a range of antigens including influenza, human papillomavirus, haemophilus influenzae, pneumococcal, measles and rotavirus vaccines. The post is available immediately and is funded until 31 st May 2019 (with the likely possibility of extension, subject to funding). The appointment will be made on LSHTM’s Research Assistant scale (£34,238 - £39,304 per annum inclusive). The post will be subject to LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
