Duties: We are searching for a Research Associate biostatistician who will work collaboratively with cancer researchers and biostatisticians, across a spectrum of oncology projects. The position will involve highly collaborative interactions with cancer research faculty at SCSU and at Hollings Cancer Center of MUSC with an emphasis on Multidisciplinary grant, manuscript and protocol development. This will include working with other statisticians, clinicians, and basic scientists on proposals in which analysis plans are described, sample size justifications are proposed, and results are presented in a clear and transparent manner for interpretation by the appropriate audience
Requirements: A Master of Science (MS or ScM) degree in biostatistics or statistics is required. Candidates should be able to work independently, have experience and ability in data analysis and statistical programming, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Fluency in either SAS or R is required

This position is for a biostatistician with research interests in clinical and translational cancer research. Job Purpose/Description: We are searching for a Research Associate biostatistician who will work collaboratively with cancer researchers and biostatisticians, across a spectrum of oncology projects. The successful candidate will have experience in data analysis, clinical trials, and/or grant writing. The successful candidate will also be required to contribute to teaching in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science each semester. Job Responsibilities and Duties: The position will involve highly collaborative interactions with cancer research faculty at SCSU and at Hollings Cancer Center of MUSC with an emphasis on 1. Multidisciplinary grant, manuscript and protocol development. This will include working with other statisticians, clinicians, and basic scientists on proposals in which analysis plans are described, sample size justifications are proposed, and results are presented in a clear and transparent manner for interpretation by the appropriate audience. 2. Analysis of data from clinical and translational studies. This will include the data analysis of data sets of varying sizes that result from cancer studies. Tables and figures will be produced, and descriptions of methods used and interpretations of results will be included. 3. Report generation for clinical trials. On-going clinical trials require regular reports on accrual, data quality, safety and (in some cases) efficacy. Reports will be generated which provide the study team, with ongoing study progress reports. Reports will also be generated at the time the study is finished or accrual and data collection is complete. Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position: A Master of Science (MS or ScM) degree in biostatistics or statistics is required. Candidates should be able to work independently, have experience and ability in data analysis and statistical programming, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Fluency in either SAS or R is required. Preferred Requirements for Entry into Position: Prior experience in clinical or basic science research and with writing collaborative papers and funding proposals is highly desired.
