The project focuses on integral varifolds whose generalized mean curvature is prescribed by an ambient function and explores connections to several related areas of research, for example Allen—Cahn approximation schemes and the study of liquid drops in equilibrium. The responsibilities of the post will include: carrying out vigorous, high-level research in the area of geometric analysis, submitting publications regularly in refereed journals; participating in local seminars and in national and international conferences
Candidates should either have a PhD or equivalent qualification in Mathematics, or should be finalising their PhD or waiting for their viva date

Applications are invited for a full-time Research Fellow position to work with Dr Costante Bellettini on the project ?Stable hypersurfaces with prescribed mean curvature?, funded by EPSRC. The project focuses on integral varifolds whose generalized mean curvature is prescribed by an ambient function and explores connections to several related areas of research, for example Allen?Cahn approximation schemes and the study of liquid drops in equilibrium. The responsibilities of the post will include: carrying out vigorous, high-level research in the area of geometric analysis, submitting publications regularly in refereed journals; participating in local seminars and in national and international conferences. This post is available from 1st March 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. Key Requirements Candidates should either have a PhD or equivalent qualification in Mathematics, or should be finalising their PhD or waiting for their viva date. Please note: Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent on award and confirmation of a PhD (or equivalent).
