Duties: Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral Research Fellow position in the Wellcome/EPSRC Centre for Interventional and Surgical Sciences (WEISS) to investigate clinical needs and practices, including cognition (how new tools change the ways that the clinical team comprehend their task), interaction (how teams engage with innovative technologies, and how those technologies can seamlessly support work), and work (how new technologies fit within and transform work and the roles of team members)
Requirements: Applicants should have obtained a PhD in a relevant subject (e.g. Human–Computer Interaction or Digital Health). Ideal candidates will have a strong background in HCI and enthusiasm for working in healthcare. Applicants should have demonstrated potential for excellent research (e.g., as evidenced by their publication track record in international journals) and the capability and motivation to collaborate within an interdisciplinary research group. The ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary research team is essential
   
Text: Research Fellow: Human Factors for surgical interventions, - Ref:1757044 Click here to go back to search results Apply Now UCL Department / Division Division of Psychology and Language Sciences Specific unit / Sub department UCL Interaction Centre Location of position London Grade 7 Hours Full Time Salary (inclusive of London allowance) ?35,328 - ?39,353 per annum Duties and Responsibilities Novel imaging technologies combined with advances in Artificial Intelligence and robotics are creating new possibilities for surgical interventions that exploit new near-real-time imaging and imaging-informed information sources and new kinds of surgical tools that change the roles of the surgical team. Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral Research Fellow position in the Wellcome / EPSRC Centre for Interventional and Surgical Sciences (WEISS) to investigate clinical needs and practices, including cognition (how new tools change the ways that the clinical team comprehend their task), interaction (how teams engage with innovative technologies, and how those technologies can seamlessly support work), and work (how new technologies fit within and transform work and the roles of team members). The successful applicant will work in a team led by Ann Blandford, with other members of WEISS. They will work closely with clinicians and engineers, translating from empirical research into novel interventions that are ready for testing through clinical trials. The post-holder will also be expected to contribute to reporting findings, both within the WEISS team and at national and international conferences, and to participate in public engagement activities.
