Duties: The purpose of this job is to support the continued development of the STU portfolio of studies through the All Wales Research Design and Conduct Service (RDCS) and to assist with producing high-quality and complete sets of data for analysis at the end of trials and assist with statistical aspects of trials adopted by STU in collaboration with key stakeholders including Abertawe Bro Morgannwg (ABM) University Health Board and Hywel Dda (HD) University Health Board and Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust (WAST)
Requirements: 1. A substantially quantitative scientific first degree, such as mathematics, statistics, econometrics, physics, engineering etc. with experience in applied statistics in health related subjects. 2. Evidence of the capacity for active engagement in designing research and writing, or contributing to writing, applications for external research funding. 3. Ability to demonstrate significant independence of focus and direction in research – determining ’what, why, when and with whom' to progress work. 4. Experience in designing of data management and reporting systems of clinical trials or similar scientific studies. 5. Knowledge of statistical data management software e.g. SPSS, R or STATA
