Duties: The successful candidate will provide leadership on the statistical design and analysis of clinical trials within the EMR, working closely with the WHRI Bioinformatics team to construct a statistical framework for the discovery of biomarkers for patient stratification from diverse genomic and clinical data. Statistical analysis of data from treatment, screening and epidemiological studies, including synthesis of evidence from studies or varying designs. Work with CI to help design new studies. Preparation of draft reports of epidemiological and trial data for discussion by trial investigators. To contribute to data management systems across studies
Requirements: Undergraduate degree (First or Upper Second). MSc or PhD or equivalent experience in statistics or related quantitative field. IT literate with the working knowledge of statistical, mathematical and database packages

The WHRI Centre funds this post for Experimental Medicine & Rheumatology (EMR) http://www.whri.qmul.ac.uk/staff/Pitzalis.html , and the appointed candidate will forge links with statisticians the Barts Clinical Trials Unit, Wolfson Institute of Preventive Medicine ( http://www.wolfson.qmul.ac.uk/ ). The successful candidate will provide leadership on the statistical design and analysis of clinical trials within the EMR, working closely with the WHRI Bioinformatics team to construct a statistical framework for the discovery of biomarkers for patient stratification from diverse genomic and clinical data. The position would particularly suit an ambitious early career researcher with an interest in the application of new biostatistical approaches to genomic medicine in clinical trials. The appointment will be for 2 years in the first instance. The starting salary will be £32,956 - £43,152 per annum inclusive of London Allowance, depending on experience.
