Position: Postdoctoral Research Associate in Grid-Linked Energy Storage Systems

Duties: Based in the Energy and Power Division, you will work within an EPSRC-funded project to examine the control and performance of grid-linked energy storage assets at the equipment level and also on the wider grid scale. Using our state-of-the-art energy storage facilities, you will research electrochemical energy storage system design, operation and optimisation, and grid-wide control and coordination. Our facilities include a Siemens SieStorage, grid-linked, lithium-ion energy storage system, a high-power battery life-cycle test system and a real-time digital simulator (RTDS)
Requirements: You will hold, or be about to obtain, a PhD in electrical engineering and must have practical experience of electrical equipment or systems, including experimental validation, computer modelling and simulation. Familiarity with the modelling and testing of grid-linked energy storage systems would be a distinct advantage. You will be able to interact effectively with researchers from other disciplines and industrial partners

You will be able to interact effectively with researchers from other disciplines and industrial partners. The post is available for 12 months.
