Position: Postdoctoral Research Associate - Mathematical Modelling of Ocular Biomechanics

Duties: We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join the Liverpool Centre for Mathematical Sciences in Healthcare (LCMH), conducting research in multi-scale mathematical modelling of ocular biomechanics. You will be based in the School of Engineering, jointly supervised by academics from the Biomechanical Engineering Group and the Applied Mathematics Group in the Department of Mathematical Sciences
Requirements: You should have a PhD (or be about to obtain) in Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Physics and have expertise in one or more of the following areas: nonlinear finite element modelling of soft tissue, experimental testing of soft tissue under mechanical loads and within tight controlled conditions, and programming, preferably in Matlab. You must be able to display clear evidence of outstanding promise and originality in research and have a good publication record. You will be expected to work effectively as a member of the research team (including both the Biomechanics Group and its academic collaborators in Mathematics), have the ability to develop and apply new concepts, and have a creative approach to problem solving
