ECON 83A: Statistics for Economic Analysis Prerequisite: ECON 2a or 10a. A first course in statistical inference. Topics include descriptive statistics, probability, normal and binomial distributions, sampling distributions, point and interval estimation, properties of estimators, hypothesis testing, regression, and analysis of variance. Candidates should be prepared to hold office hours. Applicants having a Ph.D. in Economics or a related discipline, and previous university-level teaching experience, should submit a single PDF file containing a curriculum vitae, a teaching statement detailing previous experience and teaching methodology, and evidence of teaching effectiveness (i.e., course evaluations).
