Position: Postdoctoral Research Associate

Duties: We are seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on the topic of numerical analysis of transonic aircraft aerodynamics, specifically the investigation of shock-buffet flow instability. You will be involved in developing modal (global/resolvent) analysis tools using high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics, in validating and applying the developed tools using high-performance computing systems, and in scrutinising the flow physics on infinite wings and practical aircraft models. Since the project is in collaboration with the University of Southampton, who will be running highest-fidelity simulations, you must be a team player and willing to travel occasionally
Requirements: You should have a PhD (or be about to obtain) in computational fluid dynamics/aerodynamics with a strong focus on and interest in aircraft applications, numerical analysis and stability theory, and high-performance scientific computing
