Qualifications and Experience Required: Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in data mining of large linked health care research datasets (1 million observations; 1000 variables; complex joins; entity relationships). Certification in SAS Base, SAS Advanced and experience with SQL (MySQL or SAS Proc SQL ); knowledge of Oracle, Hadoop or other large data management solutions is a plus. Demonstrated skill and experience with large data manipulation, algorithms, advanced math, or statistical modeling. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail, data accuracy, and documentation. Strongly Preferred: Experience with administrative claims data (e.g., Medicare, BCBS ), clinical trials data, registry, or cancer surveillance data. Experience with outcomes research and comparative effectiveness research. Very strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to synthesize data from multiple sources; experience working on projects that requires multi-level coordination. Strong customer service skills and service orientation. Preferred: Experience designing and developing automated analytic software, techniques, and algorithms. Experience with statistical software (Stata, R, Winbugs). Familiarity with and or experience in statistical modeling, management of missing data, and censoring truncation.
