Position: Project Manager - Energy and Materials Platforms

Duties: The mission of the project manager is to organize with faculty and researchers activities that will strengthen two of the Aalto University’s key research areas "Innovative Energy Solutions" and/or "Materials and Sustainable Use of Natural Resources". As a project manager, you will promote the visibility and cooperation of both the energy and material research between researchers in Aalto as well as with external actors. You will act as a contact point and intermediary for external and internal communication and networking. You will organize meetings with the board members of the Platforms and assist the chairs in their roles
Requirements: A doctoral degree in fields relevant to any of the Platforms. Solid understanding of the research activities and its support processes. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability and willingness to act in a matrix organization

We are now looking to fill a position as Project manager, Energy and/or Materials Platforms The mission of the project manager is to organize with faculty and researchers activities that will strengthen two of the Aalto University’s key research areas "Innovative Energy Solutions" and/or "Materials and Sustainable Use of Natural Resources". These Aalto University Platforms are designed to catalyze and coordinate multi- and interdisciplinary research and teaching in the respective thematic areas. As a project manager, you will promote the visibility and cooperation of both the energy and material research between researchers in Aalto as well as with external actors. You will act as a contact point and intermediary for external and internal communication and networking. You will organize meetings with the board members of the Platforms and assist the chairs in their roles. This includes the preparation of strategic plans for the Platforms and report to the Board on budget and activity developments. You will also participate in the development of Aalto´s multidisciplinary activities and the platforms at the Aalto University level. The position will either be filled with one person in charge of both Platforms, or two part-time persons each responsible for one Platform with a 50% work contract.
