Responsibilities include device design, micro-fabrication, microwave measurements, signal processing, and data analysis, with a division of effort tuned to the candidate's expertise and interest

Job Description: The superconducting quantum information lab at UMass Amherst invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar. The postdoctoral scholar will carry out experiments to manipulate, stabilize and transmit complex quantum states in Josephson junction based qubit/cavity systems under the supervision of Prof. Chen Wang. Responsibilities include device design, micro-fabrication, microwave measurements, signal processing, and data analysis, with a division of effort tuned to the candidate's expertise and interest. The position is for an initial term of 1 year with the possibility of two or more one-year reappointments assuming satisfactory performance and availability of funding. The position is based at UMass Amherst. Requirements: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in physics or a related field. Candidates from a variety of research backgrounds will be considered. The successful candidate will have prior expertise in one or more areas related to superconducting quantum circuits, such as low-temperature transport, microwave electronics, nano-fabrication, and quantum control techniques.
