The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Florida State University (FSU) and Florida A&M University (FAMU)College of Engineering is pleased to invite applications for an open-rank tenured or tenure-track faculty position in the area of Cyber Physical Systems Security. We seek candidates capable of establishing a leading research and educational program, and our primary interest is in the application of cyber physical systems security to power and energy systems, where there is a strong connection with the Center for Advanced Power Systems (CAPS) of Florida State University. However there are also research interests within the College in transportation, nanomanufacturing and robotics in which Cyber Physical Systems Security may be considered. Besides developing a leading sponsored research program, the candidate will teach classes at the undergraduate and graduate level within the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. The FSU-FAMU College of Engineering is unique in combining two outstanding universities with overlapping but distinct missions - one of the nation’s ~100 Highest Research Activity Universities with the nation’s top Historically Black College/University . As such we provide an outstanding research and entrepreneurship based education to one of the most diverse student populations in the US. The ECE Department presently has 24 faculty members, ABET accredited B.S. programs in electrical engineering and computer engineering with 600 undergraduate students, and M.S. and Ph.D. programs in electrical engineering with over 100 graduate students. The ECE department has strong research ties with Center for Advanced Power Systems (CAPS), and additional opportunities for collaboration with several FSU laboratories/centers including the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, the High-Performance Materials Institute (HPMI) and others, as listed in our annual report. CAPS was established in 2000 by FSU as part of the Office of Naval Research sponsored Electric Ship Research and Development Consortium.
