Text: Job Details Description: Assistant Professor (Music Education) School of Music University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign The University of Illinois combines its long and established reputation in Music Education with an ongoing commitment to comprehensive, dynamic, and relevant programs of study. We are looking for a highly motivated, creative person with teaching expertise, a well-articulated agenda for scholarly productivity, and potential for leadership in the field. This person will join an energetic faculty that values collaboration, innovation, and inclusion in its work of preparing music teachers and music teacher educators. Teaching responsibilities include courses related to string methods, with additional courses or ensembles contingent upon candidate’s expertise, interest, and area needs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additional duties include committee service, advising and recruiting activities, and participation in the ongoing work of the music education division and the school. Salary is commensurate with experience. Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in music education (or equivalent) by August 16, 2018, successful elementary or secondary music teaching, and an emerging or established record of scholarship in music education.
