Duties: We invite applications for a research assistant position to work on an exciting collaborative project aimed at providing new approaches to connect models and quantitative data in the biosciences. The successful applicant will perform mathematical research to develop a complementary suite of approaches that will enable researchers in the modern life and biomedical sciences to (i) estimate model parameters and (ii) perform model selection for agent-based and multi-scale models of biological phenomena. They will provide an average of 3 hours per week of teaching for 24 weeks of the year, for which additional remuneration will be paid
Requirements: Applicants should have a PhD awarded, or a Masters degree and PhD submitted (at the time of taking up the position) in applied mathematics, computational statistics or a related discipline, and be able to demonstrate sufficient specialist knowledge in likelihood-free inference to carry out the programme of research described above

We invite applications for a research assistant position, funded by BBSRC, to work with Professor Ruth Baker at The University of Oxford, and Professor Michael Stumpf at Imperial College London, on an exciting collaborative project aimed at providing new approaches to connect models and quantitative data in the biosciences. The postholder will be based in the group of Ruth Baker, part of the Wolfson Centre for Mathematical Biology in the Mathematical Institute. A similar post is also available in the group of Professor Michael Stumpf at Imperial College London. This is a 3 year fixed-term position and is available from 1 January 2018, or as soon as possible thereafter.
