Requirements: A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Statistics or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment. Text: Position Information Job Title Assistant Professor - Data Science (Statistics) Posting Number P1042F Position Summary Information Job Description Summary The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University is seeking a qualified individual for a tenure-track position at the level of assistant professor in Data Science (including Big Data, Machine Learning, Computational Statistics, Topological Data Analysis, or related areas). This is a nine-month position and the desired starting date is August 16, 2018. The successful candidate will be expected to: (1) develop her/his independent research program in Data Science, (2) interact with and contribute to interdisciplinary research at Auburn University, (3) advise and mentor students, and (4) have a strong commitment to high quality teaching. Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, official transcripts, a teaching statement, a research statement, and names and contact information of three professional references. Minimum Qualifications A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Statistics or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment.
