Position: Research Data Analyst

Duties: The Research Data Analyst will be responsible for managing and analyzing data from clinical and translational studies for the Calfee research group within the UCSF Pulmonary and Critical Care Division, focusing on clinical and translational studies of the acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and related critical illness. The goal of the Calfee group is to improve outcomes for ARDS patients via better understanding of the pathogenesis and molecular subtypes of this syndrome
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. • Two or more years of experience with data cleaning and data quality control. • Two or more years of experience in data analyses using a variety of statistical modeling techniques, including linear, logistic and Poisson regression models, mixed effect modeling, and Cox proportional hazard models. • Ability to provide custom-designed reports and graphical presentation of data using STATA, SAS, Excel, PowerPoint. • Proficiency in SAS and STATA programs. • Proficiency in Microsoft Access

The goal of the Calfee group is to improve outcomes for ARDS patients via better understanding of the pathogenesis and molecular subtypes of this syndrome. Job responsibilities will include managing, designing and improving clinical databases and biorepository tracking systems; extracting and cleaning datasets; designing, conducting, and interpreting basic and advanced statistical analysis; preparation of summary reports, charts, tables, and figures; and contributions to publications and presentations of this data. The Research Data Analyst works on research data reporting assignments that are of moderate diversity in scope. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. PULMONARY AND CRITICAL CARE MEDICINE The UCSF Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Division performs cutting edge research illuminating pulmonary biology and disease and trains clinicians and scientists to become future leaders of these fields. The research group within the division is focused on applying precision medicine approaches to improve our understanding and treatment of acute lung injury/the acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and other forms of critical illness.
