Duties: The Enterprise Officer will be responsible for managing and implementing iCRAG’s business development activities and achieving its business development goals and objectives. The role will be responsible for educating and informing industry and other stakeholders about the capabilities and technology assets of the Centre and for identifying opportunities for collaboration with industry partners and funding organisations. The role will also involve working closely with state agencies such as the Industrial Development Authority, Enterprise Ireland to identify and attract companies to collaborate with the Centre
Requirements: Five+ years business development and client management experience preferably in a commercial setting and preferably within the geosciences area; Familiarisation with IP protection, publication and other established methods of disseminating and commercialising research outputs; Experience in the commercialisation of academic outputs; Demonstrated understanding of the needs and priorities of industries within this field
   
Text: Enterprise Officer, UCD School of Earth Sciences (Temporary) Applications are invited for a Enterprise Officer within the UCD School of Earth Sciences. This is a temporary post. The Irish Centre for Research in Applied Geosciences (iCRAG) brings together a team of researchers from across the geosciences spectrum with a clear focus on the economic impact that can be derived from the wide range of application areas associated with geosciences. Funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the Centre is hosted in UCD in collaboration with TCD, NUIG, UCC, DIAS, NUIM and Teagasc together with government and industrial partners. Reporting to the Centre Manager, the Enterprise Officer will be responsible for managing and implementing iCRAG?s business development activities and achieving its business development goals and objectives. The role will be responsible for educating and informing industry and other stakeholders about the capabilities and technology assets of the Centre and for identifying opportunities for collaboration with industry partners and funding organisations. The role will also involve working closely with state agencies such as the Industrial Development Authority, Enterprise Ireland (and Science Foundation Ireland where appropriate) to identify and attract companies to collaborate with the Centre.
