Position: Senior expert in Sexual and Reproductive Health
Institution: Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute
Department: Swiss Centre for International Health (SCIH)
Location: Basel, Switzerland
Duties: Expertise in the area of Sexual and Reproductive Health (e.g. maternal and child health, adolescent health, family planning, community health) in national and international settings for Swiss TPH led mandates; Creating business opportunities and acquiring of large mandates; Manage Swiss TPH projects, including technical, managerial and financial leadership, support for remote project teams through regular field visits as well as M&E and implementation research; Represent Swiss TPH at the levels - donor agencies, governments, multi- and bilateral development agencies, NGOs, and local organisations; SRH expertise and leadership on behalf of Swiss TPH for high level dialogue, forums, and policy advocacy
Requirements: A higher degree in health, social sciences, epidemiology or another health related field (PhD or medical degree preferred). A postgraduate training in public health is required; Minimum of 10 years of working experience in the field of sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health and nutrition as well as health systems support; At least 5 years of in-country project implementation experience in international settings; Experience in securing major contracts for a team working in the field of SRH from different clients/donors; Significant working experience in at least two of the following fields: reproductive health, sexual health, maternal and child health, nutrition, adolescent health, primary health care, and community health,, health system strengthening, monitoring and evaluation; implementation research; Ability to lead a team by empowering and mentoring Confirmed experience in managing staff and large project budgets, related in an international context; Ability to effectively communicate with high level policy makers and international partners; Excellent command of English and French is required, Russian or Portuguese would be an asset.To best fit in the position we expect strong spirit of leadership, team work and initiative, and ability to work with professionals in multi-cultural context

The Swiss Centre for International Health (SCIH) of the Swiss TPH conducts consultancy, project management, training and applied research work in international health.
