Position: System Manager - Clinical Data

Duties: We are seeking a System Manager, Clinical Data to be a Subject Matter Expert in clinical data sources used in the measurement of value of care, with a special focus on Patient Reported Outcomes and clinical data necessary for measuring quality of care. The Manager will help expand Patient Reported Outcome data collection in Ambulatory and Inpatient sites throughout the system and coordinate work needed to use this data to improve care, including coordinating the creation of actionable data visualization platforms. In addition, the Manager will serve as a liaison/facilitator to data producers, consumers and analysts in the interest of ensuring high quality reporting of clinical metrics essential for tracking care value
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a clinical field; or in analytics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, neuroscience or other analytics fields may also be considered appropriate where an applicant has extensive experience working in healthcare. 5 years of healthcare experience with clinical metrics and/informatics and the ability to interpret, analyze, and tell stories using data. Project management and performance improvement knowledge, as well as strong facilitation and relationship-building skills. Strong knowledge of clinical workflows. Strong understanding of Electronic Medical Records Knowledge of quality/safety metrics, benchmarks and publicly reported data
   
Text: Description: Providence is calling a System Manager, Clinical Data to Providence Health & Services in Renton, WA. We are seeking a System Manager, Clinical Data to be a Subject Matter Expert in clinical data sources used in the measurement of value of care, with a special focus on Patient Reported Outcomes and clinical data necessary for measuring quality of care. The Manager will help expand Patient Reported Outcome data collection in Ambulatory and Inpatient sites throughout the system and coordinate work needed to use this data to improve care, including coordinating the creation of actionable data visualization platforms. In addition, the Manager will serve as a liaison/facilitator to data producers (including clinicians and Informatics teams), consumers and analysts (including Healthcare Intelligence) in the interest of ensuring high quality reporting of clinical metrics essential for tracking care value. The Manager's areas of focus, in addition to Patient Reported Outcomes, will include patient safety/quality metrics, measures that track the effectiveness of electronic medical record optimization efforts and clinical registry optimization. In this position you will have the following responsibilities: Coordinates Patient Reported Outcome rollout in Ambulatory and Inpatient sites across the system. Coordinates the creation and maintenance of reporting platforms for consuming and acting on Patient Reported Outcome data. Supports the Director, Enterprise Value-Based care in coordinating data presentation to effectively communicate with clinicians about outcomes that matter to patients. Works with regional and Institute-based registry abstraction teams to a) identify opportunities for using registry data to drive care improvements, and b) optimize the abstraction process, including through the use of technologies such as electronic medical records and natural language processing. Supports the Enterprise quality and safety reporting teams through coordinating reporting efforts based on clinical data, including liaison with analytics teams, informatics teams and clinicians. Coordinates reporting that tracks the effectiveness of Electronic Medical Record optimization efforts. Serve on committees and work groups as requested. Perform other duties as assigned. Preferred qualifications for this position include: Bachelor’s degree in a clinical field, e.g. nursing, or Master’s degree in a related field. Experience working in Medical Informatics. Experience writing reports or coordinating the creation of reports using health data. Lean/performance improvement experience. Green Belt Certified or equivalent About the department you will serve.
