Duties: Senior Data Analyst will support the College of Engineering Dean’s Office operational, planning and strategy efforts by generating, integrating and analyzing data. Position will work with members of the college to process, design, and present data from business, student success, research and teaching enterprises and explore and give recommendations on potential areas for improvement. This position will be responsible for importing, transforming, validating and modeling data with the purpose of understanding, drawing conclusions, and/or developing and answering questions from the data for presentation and analysis in various forms
Requirements: Master’s degree in engineering, computer science or closely related field plus 3 years of related experience required. This position will take the lead role in developing peer comparisons, variance analyses and cost studies, including models that allow for multiple scenarios, analysis and key decision factors. This position will work with many stakeholders in Engineering to develop effective analysis needed for college decision making. Minimum Required Qualifications Master’s degree in engineering, computer science or closely related field plus 3 years of related experience required. Must have a solid understanding of data systems, including data relationships and data modeling. Demonstrated experience with statistical analysis and tools necessary. Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills essential. Demonstrated ability to transform academic research data into readily comprehensible reports required. Knowledge of and ability to design statistical models and analyses essential. Ability to work closely with stakeholders including policy makers; to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions; to address basic to intermediate problems in data and use experience and judgement in taking action and/or advising management on solutions; to effectively and concisely present ideas (orally and in written form) to technical staff and customers; and to provide excellent customer service essential. Excellent organizational skills necessary. Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team. Preferred Qualifications Experience interacting with Student Information System and Learning Management System datasets as well as accreditation and assessment programs (e.g. Tk20 comprehensive academic assessment system and ABET -Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology) preferred. Knowledge of education and of methods for quantifying impacts of policies and programs in a university setting desirable. Prefer experience communicating and presenting complex data to a wide audience. At least one year of supervisory experience helpful.
