Position: Managed Services Data Analytics Architect

Duties: Analyse data, design and develop “Intelligence cloud data services” to gain insight into business outcomes, build statistical models to support decision-making, and create machine learning models to automate and simplify key business processes. Design effective data architecture and technology infrastructure to support data analytical services. Design and plan a cloud solution architecture on how data is stored, managed, analysed, published and integrated with other services. Ability to design, build, maintain and troubleshoot data processing systems with a particular emphasis on the security, reliability, fault-tolerance, scalability, fidelity and efficiency of such systems
Requirements: University Degree (Master’s degree would be desirable) in Information Technology or equivalent. Strong experience in data analytics and how it relates to all aspect of software/system design and infrastructure. Proven experience in a data analytics and business intelligence. Solid foundation in cloud computing including understanding of the cloud technology, cloud architecture and how to design, develop, and manage robust, secure, scalable, highly available and dynamic solutions and services hosted in the cloud. Knowledge of data analytics as an enabler for data-driven decision making (Intelligence) by collecting, transforming, analysing and visualizing data (typically time-series and imagery data)

Description of the job A vacancy has arisen for a skilled (Big) Data Analytics Architect with the ability to design and develop data analytics services and solutions required by geo-spatial projects and cloud-based solution using in-house or cloud infrastructure such Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud has arisen within the Intelligence Group of Airbus Defence& Space. Ultimately the goal is to create Intelligence and knowledge from data which can be a combination of time-series and imagery data. This role can be based out of the Newcastle, Newport or Guildford office. This role involves participating and contributing to the organization's products and services portfolio design and development. This position is essential for Airbus' digital services and transformation. You will be required to travel both in Europe and world-wide. The successful candidate will need to be eligible to gain UK SC Security Clearance to undertake the role.
