Text: Governance Administrator & Quality Support, - Ref:1649309 Click here to go back to search results Apply Now UCL Department / Division Institute of Prion Diseases Grade 6 Hours Full Time Salary (inclusive of London allowance) ?27,545 - ?32,281 per annum Duties and Responsibilities Applications are invited for the post of Governance Administrator & Quality Support in the Institute of Prion Diseases, a world-leading research centre studying prion and other neurodegenerative diseases. The highly multi-disciplinary team of staff work at the cutting edge of medical research into brain diseases (notably Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease - CJD - and Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy - BSE), dementia and other neurodegenerative disorders. We are looking for a well-organised administrator to support various governance, quality and sample management activities underpinning the Institute?s basic and clinical research programmes. Duties include preparing, review and providing input into quality assurance processes and documentation, organising and co-ordinating monitoring visits and audits and evaluating subsequent findings; registering human and other samples on to a database and into an archive(s); generating reports, and maintaining accurate records in line with legislation, local policy and standard operating procedures. The post is available immediately and is funded by an MRC grant on an open-ended basis. Key Requirements Applicants must have a BSc (Hons) or equivalent in a Biomedical, Life, Pharmaceutical or Biological Science; a postgraduate/MSc degree or equivalent in a Biomedical or Biological Science is desirable. Substantial experience of working in a biomedical research/laboratory environment within an academic, NHS or pharmaceutical setting is important; proven experience of working to research governance standards; maintaining and updating records and research/sample management databases; performing searches and solid monitoring and auditing experience are essential. An excellent understanding of research governance and regulatory requirements governing biomedical research in the UK and computer literacy including MS Office are also required.
