The scheme is then implemented on a research scanner and used in pre-clinical trials. The implementation will finally be clinically evaluated in trials conducted together with the Department of Radiology, Rigshospitalet to reveal its efficacy
Requirements: Candidates should hold a MSc in engineering, physics or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the MSc in engineering. Experience with digital signal processing is desirable. Similarly, knowledge of medical imaging and acoustics will also be beneficial

Apply online A 3-year PhD scholarship is available at the Center for Fast Ultrasound Imaging (CFU), DTU Elektro from June 2017 co-funded by the Innovation Fund Denmark’s Grand Solution Prize. It will be carried out in collaboration between CFU, DTU Nanotech, and the Copenhagen University Hospital (Rigshospitalet). The project seeks to develop new advanced ultrasound super resolution imaging (SRI) techniques. SRI can increase the fundamental resolution of ultrasound by a factor of 10-100 times by employing isolation and tracking of micro bubbles injected into the blood stream. This is currently performed in two-dimensional scans, but should be further developed to 3D volumetric imaging. The project seeks to develop the new imaging schemes for performing 3D imaging using newly developed row-column 2D CMUT(Capacitive Micro-machined Ultrasound Transducers) arrays and investigate its use on phantoms and in the clinic. The research is conducted in a truly multi-disciplinary environment consisting of the 3 academic partners specializing in advanced ultrasound imaging, silicon CMUT probes, and clinical investigations.
