Requirements: The successful candidate will require considerable data modelling experience for transactional as well as data-warehouse systems (normalized and dimensional models) including the use of standard artefacts/visualisations (e.g. ER-diagrams). The proficient use of industry standard tools such as ER/Studio, ERWIN etc. will allow the candidate to create these artefacts efficiently and maintain relationships between different models and visualizations. The ability to communicate efficiently and lead workshops with SMEs and senior business stakeholders as well as with technical system owners will allow the candidate to investigate, evaluate and classify information structures on conceptual, logical and physical level. Experience using and encourage the use of data modelling, metadata repositories and business glossaries by business and technical stakeholders

In this new role the successful candidate will engage with project managers, business stakeholders who act as data stewards, DBAs and application specialists to document, design and map conceptual, logical and physical data models for transactional systems and data marts. A close working relationship with the ETL-Team is required to design and document high-level data lineage that is implemented in ETL processes. The role holder will be need to build strong working relationships in order to maintain ISD?s metadata repository and business glossary. Technical and business stakeholders should be encouraged and supported to maintain these artefacts themselves using ER/Studio Data Architect and TeamServer. The role is challenging and far reaching. As part of the design and architecture team, the role holder will have the opportunity to enhance new systems such as the operational data store and integrated data warehouse.
