Text: Assistant Professor of Mathematics - Tenure-track Mathematics Department The Department of Mathematics of Siena College, Loudonville, NY, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position beginning Fall 2017. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in applied mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, data science, or related fields. A Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, or applied mathematics is expected by August 2017. The Mathematics Department at Siena College is searching for candidates who can ideally take a leadership role in developing our new applied mathematics program, and foster synergy with other departments in the school of science and across the college, as well as with a planned interdisciplinary major in data science. The department’s current strengths are in pure mathematics with a growing actuarial science program. Siena College provides a vibrant environment for undergraduates to pursue research, and it boasts strong programs in physics, astrophysics, computational chemistry, biophysics, and accounting. Siena College provides opportunities for data science experience through a state of the art instrumentation center (SAINT center), a high-performance computing cluster (HPCC), and the Hickey financial technology center (HFTC). Requirements A Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, or applied mathematics is expected by August 2017.
