A demonstrated strong track record of original research in Algebraic Geometry or an allied subject, and preferably in the general area of Birational Geometry is required. The person appointed should have a broad and strong background in birational geometry, as well as a proven track record in publishing papers of a high quality in the subject area. You must have experience in giving talks at internationally recognised conferences and workshops and experience in carrying out research of high quality, evidenced by publications of high quality

Preference will be given to candidates who have made significant contributions in the field of birational geometry of higher dimensional projective varieties. Applicants should have a PhD in Algebraic Geometry or an equivalent level of professional qualifications and experience in a closely related discipline. A demonstrated strong track record of original research in Algebraic Geometry or an allied subject, and preferably in the general area of Birational Geometry is required. The person appointed should have a broad and strong background in birational geometry, as well as a proven track record in publishing papers of a high quality in the subject area. You must have experience in giving talks at internationally recognised conferences and workshops and experience in carrying out research of high quality, independently and in a team, evidenced by publications of high quality. A high degree of willingness/ability to work within a team will also be required. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively, independently and within a team, have the ability to develop and apply new concepts, and have a creative approach to problem-solving. You will also be expected to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to write clearly and succinctly for publication.
