The post is funded for three years in the first instance. Key Requirements Candidates should either have a PhD or equivalent qualification or should be in this position by the time of taking up the postdoctoral post. The successful candidate is expected to have expertise and research experience in symplectic topology and/or algebraic geometry. Knowledge of Floer theory or pseudoholomorphic curve techniques is also desirable. Candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent on having been awarded a PhD. If this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (salary ?29,809 - ?31,432 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
