Duties: The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Greenwich is seeking to recruit a talented, well qualified, highly motivated individual with specialist expertise in Financial Mathematics to contribute to the Department’s teaching and research activity in Mathematics. You will be required to contribute to the Department’s teaching activity through the design, assessment and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Mathematics and Financial Mathematics. You will be actively engaged in research and be able to make a substantial contribution to the Department’s next REF submission
Requirements: Applicants must have a good first degree in Mathematics with a PhD in a branch of Mathematics incorporating a substantial component of Financial Mathematics. They should be qualified to supervise students at Masters’ level in areas related to Financial Mathematics
   
Text: Senior Lecturer in Mathematics - Financial Mathematics Mathematical Sciences Location: Greenwich Salary: £32,004 to £38,183 plus £3509 London weighting Contract Type: Permanent Closing Date: Thursday 02 March 2017 Reference: 1357 The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Greenwich is seeking to recruit a talented, well qualified, highly motivated individual with specialist expertise in Financial Mathematics to contribute to the Department’s teaching and research activity in Mathematics. As a full-time member of staff you will be required to contribute to the Department’s teaching activity through the design, assessment and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Mathematics and Financial Mathematics. You will be actively engaged in research and be able to make a substantial contribution to the Department’s next REF submission. Applications from candidates who can contribute to, or complement, the existing research activity in the Department are actively encouraged. The successful candidate will be expected to have a keen interest in delivering excellent teaching, and be able to demonstrate creativity and innovation in curriculum and assessment design. They will be committed to the pastoral care and academic support of students. They will be expected to carry out administrative duties to a high standard and contribute to the Department’s recruitment and outreach activities. Applicants must have a good first degree in Mathematics with a PhD in a branch of Mathematics incorporating a substantial component of Financial Mathematics. They should be qualified to supervise students at Masters’ level in areas related to Financial Mathematics. A teaching qualification (e.g. a PGCertHE) would be an advantage.
