Position: Capital Model Validation Actuary

Duties: Provide professional actuarial/risk support and advice with regard to Validation of internal model and associated input including: Planning of the Annual Validation cycle. Review of risk type validation report and co-ordination of local office feedback. Preparing of the annual ZIP Board Validation report. Provide risk/actuarial support to the ZIP management. Provide leadership to model change & governance process and validation. Act as a role model in embedded risk led behaviours and management style. Ensure that processes and standards are consistent across ZIP. Make proactive recommendations based on personal experience
Requirements: Fully qualified actuary (per local society) preferable or extensive risk experience alongside actuarial. Previous validation/Capital Model/Solvency 2 project experience in relevant discipline 2+ years of post-qualification experience in non-life actuarial/risk environment. Experience of providing risk/actuarial advice to senior management. Financial or Underwriting and general management experience

Experience  Previous validation/Capital Model/Solvency 2 project experience in relevant discipline  2 years of post-qualification experience in non-life actuarial/risk environment.  Experience in multiple functions and group-wide multiple BUs strongly preferred.  Experience of providing risk/actuarial advice to senior management.  Financial or Underwriting and general management experience. KNOWLEDGE: Advanced knowledge of capital modelling and preferably model validation. Knowledge of risk practices and policies. Insurance governance and risk management frameworks with ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. Intermediate knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting; Intermediate knowledge of actuarial professional guidance and relevant legislation. Intermediate knowledge of the insurance industry's trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations and trendsetters. Intermediate knowledge, insight, and understanding of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. Advanced knowledge of practices and policies governing disclosure of information about the organization, its business activities, and employees; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. TECHNICAL SKILLS Requires proficiency in English with a preference for proficiency in at least one other language. Effective communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Advanced knowledge of and ability to use spreadsheet software. Advanced knowledge of statistical and actuarial tools and techniques and ability to apply modelling processes and techniques to facilitate risk management decisions. Advanced knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis and the ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business.
