Located seventeen miles from downtown Chicago, Oakton serves northern Cook County with campuses in Des Plaines and Skokie, Illinois. We are seeking qualified Mathematics faculty for assignments beginning with the Fall 2017 on the Evanston Township High School campus. Successful applicants will currently be in the employ of Evanston Township High School as a faculty member. Job Description: Oakton is seeking qualified Mathematics faculty to teach General Education Mathematics. MAT125 - General Education Mathematics Course focuses on mathematical reasoning and the solving of real-life problems. Topics include: counting techniques and probability, logic, set theory, and mathematics of finance. Calculators/computers used when appropriate This course will be taught on the Evanston Township High School campus. Successful applicants will currently be in the employ of Evanston Township High School as a faculty member. Requirements: A Master's degree in Mathematics, or in Mathematics Education with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours successfully completed in Mathematics is required. Also required is that the successful applicants be in the employ of Evanston Township High School as a faculty member. Prior college teaching experience, other relevant work experience, and a doctoral degree in Mathematics or in Mathematics Education are preferred. Part-time faculty are hired on a semester-by-semester basis. A reasonable effort is made to assure the assignment of courses to more senior part-time faculty who are fully qualified by virtue of their education, training, work experience as related to current technology and pedagogical techniques, and who have had a history of successful performance at Oakton Community College. All assignments are conditioned on sufficient enrollment. Once a course starts, the part time faculty member is expected to complete the course.
