The candidate will be an integral part of an innovative Aetna Federal Plans team which is breaking ground to be a leader in the Federal Employees Health Benefit Program by introducing new affordable plan options to federal employees and by marketing directly to the employees. The health plans for federal employees operate similar to health exchange business and covers over 8 million federal members. Aetna currently has over 500, 000 members in a variety of Federal Health plans (both risk and ASC medical offerings)
Requirements: The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Actuarial/Associate of the Society of Actuaries is required. Fundamental Components: The primary responsibility of this position is to provide actuarial support for the forecast/plan processes, reserve development, and pricing to meet financial and strategic goals. This role works closely with Underwriting and Finance teams and is a member of the Feds Senior Team. The candidate will lead a wide range of projects including: Monthly/quarterly reserve processes associated with financial close analyzing emerging data, verifying accurate reporting. Quarterly forecasts/ Annual Operating and Strategic plan, creating actuarial models for market based analysis Open enrollment analysis including assessing adverse selection issues and strategy impacts Renewal pricing and proposal support, including benefit design impact analysis. Provide actuarial perspective and analysis for all strategic initiatives in the competitive Federal Employees Health Benefits Program environment.
