The Research Engagement, Development and Innovation office is responsible for providing integrated administrative and management support for researchers and research activity across the University, with a strong focus on research development, income generation, ethical review and the coordination of researcher development. The role of Research Contracts Officer is to develop and review research contracts between Western Sydney University and external parties. We have an opportunity for a motivated research contracts officer to fill a maternity leave position between February - September 2017. The ideal candidate has: • A undergraduate degree plus/or relevant experience and/or training in contracts drafting and management. • A strong working knowledge of the research funding environment and an understanding of grant/contract research and its administration. • Experience in contract negotiation and administration, with particular experience in document control. • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet competing deadlines • High-level interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills to facilitate interactions with diverse stakeholders including researchers, external agencies and professional legal representatives. • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment with minimal supervision • Demonstrated advanced computer literacy skills, including an understanding of the effect of file management and database use for workflow and milestone tracking and reporting.
