Ensures activities and items are in compliance with both campus, medical center or Office of the President IT quality assurance standards and applicable government regulations and software / product design specifications to determine and approve software releases. The position will be an integral part of the development team to ensure high-quality, robust development and deployment of system components. The individual will be responsible for guiding and mentoring QA Engineers. This person will perform analysis and identifies trends in the inspection of IT processes, software and products and recommends corrective actions when necessary. Ensures that established inspection, sampling and statistical process control procedures are followed. Involved in developing, auditing, monitoring and enforcing the established release management processes and policies in support of cross-domain configuration integration, testing, completeness and consistency. May ensure compliance to UC and / or external specifications and standards. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training • Formal Quality Assurance training, eight or more years of software testing experience, with five or more years testing enterprise level or consumer facing web applications • In-depth understanding of project management, Agile, Scrum, healthcare and technology development principles • Demonstrated success in exercising technical leadership, including ability to build consensus among various groups • Advanced knowledge of software functions and analysis • Advanced skills associated with analysis of software design, modification and implementation • Advanced understanding of the use of automated testing tools, including skill to perform automated QA procedures • Understands compliance requirements for applicable industry or agency standards. Advanced knowledge of the ISO standards and the Compatibility Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) model • Advanced skills in software lifecycle management • Advanced knowledge of software function and analysis. Thorough knowledge relating to the design, development and analysis of software • Thorough knowledge of other related areas of IT. Knowledge of department and University processes and procedures • Demonstrated skills and experience at recommending and presenting quality improvements to processes. Demonstrated ability to understand business and how business systems can support those needs • Demonstrated skill at developing complex conversion and system implementation plans. Advanced skills related to complex software and project lifecycle management. Advanced skills in software testing • Coordinates release program activities and functions as a subject matter expert in release management • Programming expertise in a modern object-oriented language such as Java or C# and query relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle • Interpersonal skills in order to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner • Self-motivated, ability to learn quickly, meet deadlines, works independently and as part of a team and demonstrate problem-solving skills Note: Fingerprinting and background check required. Preferred Qualifications • Five or more years of QA automation test development using a tool such as QTP Pro or Selenium; strong understanding of automation framework • Perform API level testing, system testing, stress, load and white box testing • The complexity of the healthcare projects that will be developed and the collaborations that must be established require an individual with strong demonstrated history of successful system management and healthcare experience • Understanding of web API’s and modern electronic data exchange using SOAP and REST • Experience in SaaS and Web 2.0 apps technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and JSON) • Experience in Enterprise applications (Data Warehousing or Business Analytics applications is a plus) • Knowledge of Salesforce APEX and VisualForce • Familiarity with Salesforce built in reporting, dashboards and workflows License/Certification n/a Position Type Part Time Percentage 60% Equal Employment Opportunity The University of California San Francisco is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
