The School is proud to host well-regarded undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs in which new faculty would teach and mentor students. Applicants must possess evidence of a program of scholarship or clinical skills in the specific area of nursing specialization. Please note that all candidates for full-time positions are required to have earned a PhD in nursing or a related field. UPMC Health System Chair in Nursing Science: The candidate for this full-time tenured position should be an outstanding nurse scientist with a program of research that has direct application to nursing practice and is recognized by experts as having made significant contributions to the discipline of nursing. Responsibilities include maintaining a,n active program of research directly related to the practice of nursing, providing direction to patient care, and providing mentorship to faculty and doctoral students whose research is consistent with this overall direction. Qualifications for this tenured appointment include an earned PhD in nursing or related field, evidence of sustained scholarly productivity, evidence of excellence as a teacher, and expertise recognized at the national/international level. The focus of this position is to add to the knowledge base of the discipline of nursing for the purposes of improving health, decreasing disability, and aiding recovery from illness and trauma. Nurse Anesthesia Faculty: The School of Nursing is seeking candidates for faculty positions within its highly regarded Department of Nurse Anesthesia. Our Nurse Anesthesia graduate programs have been ranked No. 4 by U.S. News & World Report. Tenure-Stream Faculty: The School seeks to fill full-time tenure-stream faculty positions in several focal areas. Non-Tenure Stream Faculty: The School seeks to fill full-time non-tenure stream positions in the following specialties: Adult medical-surgical and other nursing specialties.
