The individual will also perform work on neurodegeneration, including behavioral/psychological analyses in animal models of neurodegeneration. The duties will include basic mouse and fish husbandry, mouse and fish colony organization, Southern blot analysis, PCR, preparation of genomic and plasmid DNA. Additional techniques will include a variety of DNA analysis procedures and microinjection of embryos. This position will also include a minority of administrative and organizational duties, including ordering supplies and chemicals for the laboratory, maintaining records of supplies. Required Qualifications • BA/BS degree in bio-psychology or a closely related equivalent major and knowledge of, or experience with, the basic techniques or methods required by the position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience • Must have basic knowledge of mouse embryo dissection and basic mouse husbandry, including handling and genotyping • Must have a clear knowledge of basic molecular biology, including PCR, gel electrophoresis, and bacterial culture Note: Fingerprinting and background check required.
