CHPR provides services to over 100 faculty members and has over 35 staff, graduate students, interns and volunteers. Location: Sacramento (does not include UCDHS) Allow Applicants to Attach: Resume Cover Letter Position Details Job Summary: Under direction, the Health Policy Analyst will support a variety of health policy, comparative effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and health care quality measurement projects. Responsible for project management, literature reviews (including systematic reviews) of medical and public health literature related to health care policy questions, and environmental scans related to quality/outcomes measurement. As a contributor to the California Health Benefits Review Program (CHBRP), research and draft the public health impact estimates of proposed legislation concerning health insurance benefit mandates. Provide independent analysis of the medical, financial, and public health impacts of proposed benefit mandates and repeals to the state legislature in partnership with several UC campuses. Support faculty grant writing and assist with drafting analyses and recommendations for abstracts, papers, reports, and presentations to be submitted to funding agencies, peer-reviewed journals, professional organizations, and other non-profit and government organization. Physical Demands: Lift paper materials weighing up to 25 lbs. Work Environment: Valid CA drivers license to travel out-of-town to attend meetings including overnight stays. Yes Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Experience conducting systematic reviews, and literature reviews of public health, health care quality, comparative effectiveness, and health outcomes literature to support projects and grant applications. Experience to critically evaluate policies and empirical studies in topics such as health services research, health care quality measurement, epidemiology, public health, and health insurance to efficiently identify study strengths, limitations, and policy implications. Experience managing projects including development and implementation of project protocols, procedures, and task delegation, and to manage and meet deadlines. Experience developing, drafting, editing, and proof-reading complex written communication and oral communication presentations to convey complex information to various users (i.e., written policy briefs, academic journal publications, reports to funding agencies). Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively and professionally communicate in person and via email and telephone with clients, staff, and faculty at all levels. Familiarity with peer-reviewed literature sources and other sources for public health and health services research data. Experience using advance computer skills with MS Office Suite for Windows and EndNote. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
