The Role In the newly-created role, as a Risk Management Actuary you will be responsible for supporting the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) activities within the Group Protection division. This includes providing complex actuarial analysis and recommendations for his/her assigned area of responsibility. The focus of this role is to deliver insightful, value added, actionable risk analytics and governance to drive business results. Risk management areas of focus include pricing and product development governance, risk self-assessments and assumption management. Responsibilities Risk Management Assists in the development and upgrade of the quality of actuarial investigations and evaluation of the financial well-being of the enterprise. Assists in the development of risk/return pricing standards and risk management methodologies based on actuarial and economic principles. Leads the oversight and review of new product strategies, development, design, pricing, and implementation. Assist with the identification and management of risks and opportunities via a robust risk self-assessment process. Participates or leads workgroups by evaluating issues and opportunities of risk significance. Provides leadership that supports the Corporate Actuarial Assumption Governance process. Leads the creation and maintenance of a Group Protection actuarial assumption database. Leads efforts to encourage assumption setting transparency in pricing, valuation, financial and risk management practices. Partner with Corporate Actuarial to ensure aligned Group Protection and Corporate ERM functions. Relationship Management Maintains a network of internal and external strategic relationships to help achieve business objectives Utilizes informal and formal channels to drive outcomes Develops creative and collaborative approaches to driving customer-focused solutions which also benefit the company’s top and bottom lines Partners with leaders and peers within product development, pricing, valuation, finance and corporate.
