Requirements: Educated to degree level or equivalent. Significant experience working in a communications focussed role within a multi-faceted organisation. Text: Fixed Term Marketing Officer Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract Expiration date: 24-Jan-2017 Salary Grade 7 £28,452 to £32,004 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications). Full time position (together with USS benefits) Main Purpose of the Post Applicants are invited for the position of Marketing Officer in the College of Human and Health Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with substantive experience within the marketing field to join a small but busy marketing team. You will provide a range of marketing services to the largest College in the University, covering the breadth of the marketing mix, and in conjunction with the Marketing Manager for the College will provide guidance and professional advice to senior colleagues. The postholder should possess a related degree or provide evidence of equivalent study or work experience, preferably with a postgraduate qualification in a related field. Candidates must have a successful track record of being able to work as part of a team, utilising excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience of marketing within the post compulsory education sector (i.e. further or higher education) would be an advantage. The postholder will work in conjunction with the Marketing Manager, will contribute to the implementation of central marketing initiatives and provide a marketing service to internal customers. Ensure that all marketing activities of the College are in line with the University’s marketing strategy and that the same key messages are being reflected Support the College recruitment team with the formulation and management of appropriately targeted recruitment strategies in partnership with academic and admissions personnel to stimulate demand to meet undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment targets Play a key role in the development of effective internal and external integrated marketing communications programmes that serve to raise the profile of the College and the University Develop timely, engaging, informative and accurate content for communications including online and offline channels for a variety of audiences and groups. Develop, promote and operate effective two-way communication channels between CHHS management and staff, students and wider stakeholders that encourage interaction and engagement. Manage the promotion of and participate, as required, in a range of events, seminars and workshops , including open days that are held at the University and other locations in Wales Work with the Digital Marketing Officer to develop, improve and maintain webpages and social media presence Work with key communication groups across the University including (but not limited to): Public Relations, Admissions and Academic Services to ensure consistency and to avoid duplication Develop a professional relationship with Home and International Student Recruitment teams, Alumni, Public Relations, Academic Services and the Admissions Office where appropriate to ensure consistency and to avoid duplication Develop and implement effective tools to measure and monitor the effectiveness of communications and seek continuous improvement. Either designing (in-house) or managing third parties to design any collateral used to support communication. Mentor and coach colleagues within the team and provide training on systems as required Fully engage with the University’s Performance Enabling and Welsh language policies Promote equality and diversity in working practices and maintain positive working relationships Conduct the job role and all activities in accordance with safety, health and sustainability policies and management systems, in order to reduce risks and impacts arising from the work activity Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Marketing Manager in the College or other such person as may be directed to act with her authority.
