You will be expected to work closely with the Global Head of BI, Global CUO and CPA as well as Regional CUOs and CPAs to deliver clear and directive business insight into the underwriting performance of various Business Units. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Working closely with the appropriate Global and Regional Underwriting and Pricing staff this role is accountable for the following business supporting processes: Driving profitable growth through the analysis, development, continuous accuracy and integrity of KPIs associated with Performance Management; Oversight and support of Portfolio Management process and Performance Management framework. This includes: Regular performance reporting and monitoring to support the Underwriting Performance Review process; Annual planning processes such as the Global Profitability Review; Specific accountabilities within these processes include: Assist Global and Regional Underwriting in the continuous improvement of performance; Provide analysis of portfolio performance against plans and overall strategy; Development and delivery of KPIs to a high quality to enable portfolio management; Ensure efficient production of standardised exhibits on time; Provide input into portfolio deep dives including leading ad-hoc analyses; Provide input into Performance Improvement and Turnaround programmes including the identification of growth opportunities; Communication of findings to all stakeholders; Development of the reporting tools and data assets to further enhance the business intelligence capabilities of Zurich globally. Responsibilities include: Driving the capture of granular data suitable for portfolio performance improvement process; Promoting and support common data standards; Provide leadership and support to drive improved infrastructure for access to data and metrics (including new reporting and visualisation tools) in a consistent fashion across the GI business. RELATIONSHIPS Internal: B.I. Team members Collaboration across teams (claims, underwriting, finance - both global and regional teams) to support internal customers’ focus & business results Line Manager - reporting HR and Administration Members of virtual teams to develop support GI CPA, GI CUO Regional and BU CPAs and CUOs and their teams relating to relevant internal customers, to develop relationships and resolve queries Group Capital GI UW Operations and IT GI Underwriting Line of Business Heads External: This is mostly an internal role. However, this individual will need to link to the external environment from both a professional perspective and an economic/regulatory perspective TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES The technical skills required for the tasks above are: Advanced knowledge of the techniques and concepts behind non-life Insurance reserving, including underlying process and performance drivers. Advanced knowledge of finance, accounting and actuarial concepts and practices as applied to the insurance industry Good knowledge of the insurance industry's trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations and trendsetters. Good knowledge of practices, tools and techniques for effective pricing of insurance contracts. Good knowledge of the techniques and concepts behind P&C Insurance rating & pricing NON TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES Proficiency in English with a preference for proficiency in at least one other language.
