Duties: Technical Knowledge; Runs, maintains, and develops efficient, controlled operational processes including daily greek validation, hedging performance and month - end valuation; Analyzes daily/weekly P/L and creates tools for generating performance attribution; Works with large datasets in database environments and in flat files in order to calculate and explain performance drivers; Some level of database management including SQL knowledge, and experience with ADO connections through excel VBA; Creates and provides hedge performance reporting that feeds hedging strategy and enables risk mitigation improvements. The Role The Analyst, Hedging Operations is responsible for mitigating market risks for Lincoln Financial by identifying and reporting on key risks for variable annuities and other insurance products. This position focuses on operations, performance, and analysis within the variable annuity hedge program. Requirements Education Undergraduate degree or 4 years of comparable work experience; educational concentration in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Hard Science/engineering is require Masters level or Advanced degree preferred but not required Experience 3-5 years of increasing experience in variable annuity market risk management or related field. Knowledge of capital markets instruments. Expert level knowledge of VBA. Familiarity with object-oriented programming. Experience with data manipulation in mySQL, Python. Knowledge of linear algebra and optimization techniques. Strong understanding of financial derivatives. Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures.
