Position: Actuarial Analyst

Duties: POSITION SUMMARY; Support Medicare Advantage actuarial pricing by applying quantitative skills and analytical methods. Set own priorities within pre-established overall deadlines. Leverage strong technical skills to achieve business solutions and demonstrate understanding of business and product processes. Complete tasks independently with some direction from supervisor; Fundamental Components: Assumptions & Data Sources- Demonstrate understanding of pricing assumptions and the process used to develop them. Incorporate understanding of data sources in the recommendation and implementation of appropriate business decisions; Maintenance & Enhancements- Maintain and develop enhancements to processes, tools, and systems. Make suggestions to maximize efficiency; Regulatory issues- Demonstrate understanding of regulatory compliance issues for Medicare Advantage products; Rate Filing- Compile and analyze filing data. Prepare and submit necessary exhibits for regulatory filings with The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS); Verbal & Written Communication- Respond to routine inquiries and provide support in responding to moderately complex constituent inquiries in an accurate and timely manner. Create and maintain accurate documentation and help develop training materials for tools and processes; Interaction with Constituents- Under supervisor direction, collaborate with internal business partners including General Managers, Network Contracting, Product, and Finance; BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired: 1 year(s) work experience; Employees in the Actuarial Training Program are expected to have a college degree with concentration typically in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Economics or related field and should be pursuing associate-ship in the Society of Actuaries; EDUCATION; The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCES; Functional - Actuarial/Financial actuarial analysis/1-3 Years; ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION; Aetna is about more than just doing a job.
