Position Overview : The Student Worker Program at Texas State Technical College provides part-time employment to undergraduate students who need earnings to help meet their costs of postsecondary education. Essential Function : The student will assist the department and/or office by providing academic and/or technical support to students enrolled at Texas State Technical College. This position will provide individual, small group, and/or lab and classroom tutoring in Math. Essential Functions include: Assist students using algegra and trig computers programs Assist students with all levels of math, algebra, and trig Integrate and facilitate study and learning strategies to promote independent learning Attend class while in session and model active learning strategies Develop notes during classroom observation and supplemental materials that support learning Promote and encourage student participation in tutoring Account for laptops and calculators at the end of tutoring sessions and secure classroom Must work 10 hours per week Lab hours 8 am to 7 pm M-TH, Fir 8 am. to 12 Minimum Qualifications : Be registered with Selective Service, if applicable Completed course in MATH 1314 College Algebra with a a grade of an A Must be currently enrolled in at least 6 college hours at TSTC Must currently be in Good Academic Standing Salary : $ 10 an hour Position is contingent upon meeting the requirements at the end of each semester Hiring Manager: Garry Sigler Apply Save Job Email Job to Friend Return to List
